High School Assistant Band Director
Thrall High School is a highly successful 3A campus located in Thrall, TX. Conveniently located in Central Texas, Thrall is close to Round Rock, Taylor, Pflugerville, and Austin. Thrall ISD continues to shine as a District of Choice in Texas. The High School Marching Band consistently earns sweepstakes at their annual competitions. The High School Marching Band also features a successful Color Guard and Twirlers. This staff member will assist in leading the HS Band, as well as provide leadership and guidance to our future band students in the middle school and elementary. The music program is an integral part of Thrall ISD and this position will require assisting the head band director in designing music and preparing the band program throughout the district.

Pay based on Teacher Pay Scale plus ten extra days and assistant band stipend.

Kermit ISD has an immediate opening for an assistant director for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year. This position will assist with the high school marching band and concert band, direct the junior high band, and team teach beginners. Beginner classes (6th grade) are split into separate woodwind, brass, and percussion classes. Prior experience is recommended but not required. The ideal applicant would have a strong pedagogical background, strong marching background, possess a Texas teaching certificate, and be able to work in a small school setting in a competitive 3A program. All applicants will be considered. The high school band program has seen several successes over the past few years including Division 1 ratings in Sight Reading in 2021 and 2023, Division 1 ratings in Marching and Concert in 2021-22, and a Division 1 rating in Concert in 2024. The junior high program also received a Division 1 rating in Sight Reading in 2022.

Kermit ISD is a 3A/1C district located in West Texas about 45 miles west of Odessa. We have supportive administrators who provide for the needs of the band program and want to see the students succeed. The Kermit ISD band program has been steadily growing over the past few years. In 2020-21, the total number of students involved in the band program grades 6 -12 was around 100. Currently, the program consists of 205 students in grades 6-12. Last year, a bond was approved by voters that includes renovations to the junior high band hall, security upgrades at all campuses, construction of a new turf practice field at the junior high, renovations to the football stadium, and other improvements. Early ISD is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic High School Band Director. The applicant will be responsible for directing the High School Marching Band, Jazz Band, Concert Band, and Ensembles, as well assisting with Middle School Bands. This is an immediate opening and we are looking for someone to come in and finish out the school year with our band students. The Early ISD bands have a long standing tradition of musical excellence and we are seeking a candidate that can continue on that tradition.
